Once again this year, the companies that operate school buses in Delaware are facing a driver shortage. While we began the school year fully staffed, our bus contractors have experienced attrition and are currently seeking additional drivers. If you, or someone you know is 18-years or older, enjoys working with children, has a mature attitude, and the flexibility to take on a part-time job – average pay is $14-$17/hour – we ask that you get in touch with one of the four bus contractors serving the Appoquinimink School District.

Interested In Applying?
Our bus contractors are interested in hiring and retaining great staff and will help you through the training and certification process if you do not currently have a commercial driver’s license. (Although they’d prefer it if you already have your CDL.)
The part-time job requires: a commercial driver’s license, passenger endorsement, background check, drug test, fingerprinting, a signed affidavit that you have no felonies or drug convictions. Additionally, you must agree to be placed in a child protection registry and complete a physical exam, 12-hour course and 6 hours of certified training.
(Note: Appoquinimink buses carry a maximum of 72 bus riders.)

Bonus Breakdown:
One-time Sign-On bonus of $200 when hired. Additional $300 attendance bonus monthly. Additional $1000 bonus (half received in December, and Half received in June).
Working Parents!
Bring your children to work and they can ride with you! Kid-Friendly work environment. Additionally, if your child is not currently in Appoquinmink School District, you have the option to choice them in after accepting the position.
